THE CHALLENGE
For four generations, the Baxter family have been handing down their expertise to produce some of the UK’s finest soups, preserves, condiments, beetroot and chutney. To mark their 150th anniversary Intrinsic was tasked to design an anniversary book to commemorate the history of what has now become a global brand.
OUR SOLUTION
We immediately realised the enormity of the project and the way that Baxter’s has touched so many peoples lives. This had to be the very best creative work we could summon.
We threw ourselves into the enormous archive of materials available to us and set to work visually bringing the incredible history of the Baxter family to life over 150 pages.
This was such a personal story, rich in flavour and demonstrating the ingenuity and ambition for which Scots have rightly become renowned. We simply had to reflect this in every single page of unique layout. No two pages use the same template. Sadly the technology for ‘lickable’ pages was not yet sufficiently developed enough for us to use it, but every turn of every page immerses you in a wonderful documentary of a treasured family business.
THE RESULT
Over 6 months in the making, this mighty book possessed a thump factor as resonant as the story it told and stands as a testament to a passion to preserve.
